Guide Review - Trisha Yearwood - Songbook: A Collection of Hits
How do you review a greatest hits album, when clearly, all the material contained has proven itself? It's not easy, but I'm going to try. Trisha Yearwood is my favorite female country artist, and I was thrilled to be able to see her again this year as she attended the CMA Music Festival. It's been a few years since Trisha was on the country music scene, but she will release a new album, "Jasper County" later this year."Songbook: A Collection of Hits" weaves a tapestry of her past successes. Looking at the track list, every song, but one, "Down on My Knees," is a Top 5 song. The latter peaked at No. 19, but there are also four No. 1 songs on the album, "She's in Love with the Boy," "Perfect Love," "Thinkin' About You," and "XXX's and OOO's (An American Girl)."
One of my favorite Trisha Yearwood songs is missing, however it never was really a hit. I believe it's more of a fan favorite, "On a Bus to St. Cloud."
This CD contains a wonderful selection of Trisha's best, and with a lovely voice like Trisha has, you know it's only the tip of the iceburg. There is still much more wonderful music to come.
