Guide Review - Wayne Warner - Doing Something Right
The long path to success sometimes can lead you back to where you came from. In the case of Wayne Warner, his path returned him back to his home state of Vermont. After a couple of false starts in Nashville, including a deal with Atlantic Records before they closed, Wayne co-founded B-Venturous Records in his home state (A Nashville office is now open too). [phttp://erclk.about.com/?zi=1/Z%5dsWith his own label, Wayne ensured that his career would be directed the way he wanted, in essence, he could record songs that moved him, not what fit radio parameters. With a strong voice that is instantly unlike any other, Wayne opens up his sophomore album with Doing Something Right and More of That. Both songs are infectious songs about everyday life situations. The real shocker on the record is the tender ballad A Flight Called You. The song is a tender and touching ballad that could be about true love, be it with a person or from God. Lifes All Right With Me is a twangy piece of folksy country while I Wanna Do That (Love Thing) is pure fun. Turbo Twang is how Waynes song style has been described and the song is a fun, dance club ready piece of exactly that: turbo twang.[phttp://erclk.about.com/?zi=1/Z%5dtIn a genre that often gets accused of copying trends, Wayne Warner is a refreshing change of pace. Hes an artist that not only writes his own songs but has a style that is uniquely his. There should be more artists like Wayne Warner in Nashville but since there isnt, Im glad hes around.
