Guide Review - Oak Ridge Boys - Christmas Cookies
Hearing this collection brought back some wonderful memories for me as I listened to the traditional tracks. From "Hark The Herald Angels Sing," "I'll Be Home For Christmas," to "Jingle Bells," "O Come All Ye Faithful" and "Silent Night." All were performed by the Oaks as only the Oaks can sound. Rich, full harmonies filled my CD player and for as good as the harmonies are, the talent of the musicians was every bit as good.Included in this collection were also some wonderful new songs. "Christmas Cookies" is a hoot as the better half of the cookie maker sings of his love for the cookies she bakes. We can all relate to most of the words especially the part about the more she makes, the more I eat. "From Love To Love" is a intricately written song by Leslie Hatcher. It speaks of love we let go in someway only to be equally loved by someone or something else.
One of my absolute favorites is "Uncle Luther Made The Stuffin'." You just can't help but to sing along to this bouncy, happy song. It mentions all the ingredients of those special Christmas get together's with the relatives. Lots of fiddle, guitar and banjo licks which adds so much to the bounciness of the song.
The tracks included are filled with love, beautiful harmonies and a very rich acoustic sound.
I think you'll adore this new Christmas collection from the Oaks just as much as I do.
