Guide Review - Pat Waters - Right Where I Belong
"That Ole Blacktop" is about a man who tipped his hat and said "Adios" when his wife decided to leave him. The man wishes her well and adds that when her greener pasture turns blue she could always come back home. "Wasted" was one of my favorite songs on Jamie Richard's 'Between These Lines' album and I'm glad there is another artist's version to enjoy. "The Company I Keep" is about a guy who knows his friends are rowdy and crazy but he knows they are the best people. "Is That Such A Foolish Thing" is a slow song about a man who wants to know if happiness is achievable.
here's no such thing as a "Bad Day Of Fishing" in the next song. "If you get no action you can just sit back and take in the great outdoors." "Badly Bent" is one of those songs where nothing seems to be going right for the man. He needs to "squeak by 'til the first." Title track, "Right Where I Belong," is the perfect honky-tonking closer to the album.
