Guide Review - Trisha Yearwood - Songbook: A Collection of Hits

When you hear the name, Trisha Yearwood, you think of the amazing sound and vocal clarity that she has in each and every one of her songs. The talent is unmistakable and that is exactly why she has such a wonderful collection of songs for her "Songbook: A Collection of Hits" album.

Like any other singer, she has matured and gotten better with each release. Her first number one hit, "She's In Love With The Boy" (a song about a young couple in love that only wanted to get married and be together, despite the father of the girl having other feelings), shot straight to number one and was also the very first song released by the then up-and-coming new artist. Showing the gained maturity, Garth joins Trisha on the beautiful song, "In Another's Eyes," which proves that just because a couple drifts apart, that does not mean that the old sparks and feelings just disappear suddenly - the couple in the song are looking at different people but thinking about what they used to share with each other. Located somewhere in the middle of those releases are the equally emotional tunes, "The Song Remembers When," and "How Do I Live," (from the movie "Con Air").

There are two more songs that have guest vocals: "Walkaway Joe," (a duet with Don Henley), and "Like We Never Had A Broken Heart," (featuring Garth Brooks singing background). "Perfect Love" provides the upbeat break from the slow ballads as does "XXX's and OOO's."
