"The Seashores of Old Mexico" - George Strait
I just returned from two George Strait shows over the weekend, and got to hear this performed live both times. It's a great little waltz tune, penned by the great Merle Haggard, and is on George's Somewhere Down in Texas cd.
"Wal-Mart Parking Lot" - Chris Cagle
This is the second single from Chris' Anywhere But Here album. This song has something in it that I think many people can relate to, whether they're in their teens and experiencing first loves and making out in cars, or looking back on the past, and that one that you thought was surely the "one" for you. I'm really surprised that "Miss Me Baby" didn't do better than it did. It peaked at No. 12. This one should be another Top 10 for Chris.
"The Lucky One" - Faith Hill
Fresh from her Grammy Awards performance, along with Keith Urban, you can hear her third single from Fireflies album. Should be another Top 5 hit for Faith. I really like this song. It didn't take long for me to be singing along with the chorus. BTW, I thought she looked great on the show, and had never seen her play guitar before. That was cool to see.
"I Don't Live Here Anymore" - Todd Fritsch
This is Todd's third single, and the first ballad. The song, penned by fellow Texan, Brian Burns is a haunting melody of a relationship that's ended, but he can't seem to remember. This is from his self-titled album
"Aviators" - Shooter Jennings
Shooter will be releasing Electric Rodeo on April 4th, and this is the first single. It really has that 60's country sound, with lots of steel guitar. A mixture of recitation and singing, this is a very different sound for Shooter, who sings about his girl leaving him, and how she won't see the tears in his eyes behind his Aviator Sunglasses.
