"The World" - Brad Paisley
Brad Paisley's Time Well Wasted is an awesome album. He's released two singles so far, both of them have gone to No. 1. I think this one is likely to head to the same place. It's upbeat and fun and sweet, and typical Brad.
"It Was An Absolutely Finger Lickin', Grits And Chicken, Country Music Love Song" - Bomshel
This duo performed at the Country Radio Seminar and both Sue and Jo were floored by their energy. This song is similar in tempo to Sugarland's "Down in Mississippi," but soundwise, they remind me of early Dixie Chicks. I love this one!!
"Down In Mississippi (And Up To No Good)" - Sugarland
When I first received Sugarland's advance, back in 2004, I just *loved* this song. Jennifer has one of the best voices around, and this fun romp about a girl's weekend away is such great fun, it's sure to shoot straight to the top of the charts.
"Get Outta My Way" - Carolina Rain
Carolina Rain is on Clint Black's label, Equity Records. This mid-tempo tune has a great country-pop sound, and it's catchy as heck. Their album is due in stores this August.
"A Good Man" - Emerson Drive
Emerson Drive has always been one of my favorite groups. This is a nice little mid-tempo tune about wanting to be known as a good man. If you enjoyed Emerson Drive's music when they were on Dreamworks, you'll be sure to enjoy this country pop tune which is their debut single on their new label, Midas Records. Their album will come out this Summer.
"Nowhere in the Neighborhood" - Jace Everett
I saw Jace perform at CMA Music Festival last year, and got to hear his awesome voice. I'm surprised that his previous singles, "That's The Kind of Love I'm In" and "Bad Things" didn't do better on the charts. They're both great songs. While I like this song, I prefer "Bad Things" of the three singles he's released so far.
"The More I'm Around Some People, The More I Like My Dog" - Sonny Burgess
If you're looking for a fun song, I vote for this one. The title says it all.
"Gone Either Way" - Ray Scott
I just love Ray Scott's deep baritone voice. He's all country, that's for dang sure. This sounds like something Waylon would have recorded. It's the second single from his debut album, My Kind of Music.
