Hot New Country Songs

Love and Theft move into the top spot with "Angel Eyes." It took a record-breaking 39 weeks for the single to get there, but slow and steady wins the race, and all that. It's the group's first #1 country single, so congratulations are in order. Gloriana take out step forward to the top position themselves with "(Kissed You) Goodnight," which edged past Kenny Chesney's "Come Over" to secure the runner-up slot. The quick rise up the charts of Little Big Town's "Pontoon" abated; the boat song is docked right where it was last week, at #5.

Top 5 Country Albums

  1. Colt Ford - Declaration of Independence
  2. Zac Brown Band - Uncaged
  3. Luke Bryan - Tailgates & Tanlines
  4. Carrie Underwood - Blown Away
  5. Kenny Chesney - Welcome to the Fishbowl

Hot New Country Albums

  • #28 Johnny Cash - The Greatest: The Number Ones
  • #38 Various Artists - We Walk the Line
  • #71 Johnny Cash - The Greatest: Duets

In a surprise of sorts, Colt Ford takes the #1 honors this week with Declaration of Independence. According to Billboard, the album actually debuted last week, charting an unimpressive #67. Were some venues selling the album early? (Given that the release date for the record has been in constant flux, it wouldn't surprising.) What's certain is that Ford is pretty ecstatic to score his first #1 country album.

"I can't believe I have the number 1 record in the country," the singer said in a statement on his website. "I do know for sure I have the #1 fans in the world. I would be nothing without y'all. Thank you so much for your love and support and for fighting for me."

Hot New Radio Country Songs

Taylor Swift made an auspicious debut at #25 with "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together Again," the first single from her new album Red. Expect it to move up. Elsewhere, Love and Theft get a boost from radio listeners. The duo jumped from #21 to a very sweet #16. Right behind them were Gloriana with "(Kissed You) Good Night" at #17. Meanwhile, Blake Shelton and Kenny Chesney minded the gap between the frontrunners and Swift.
