Comments

Eric Church remains at the top of the charts with "Springsteen," reminding me I might need to rejigger my standing of Top 10 Eric Church Songs. Luke Bryan remains at #2 with "Drunk on You." Ditto Brantley Gilbert, who holds the fort down with "You Don't Know Her Like I Do" at #3, same as last week. Inching up the top 5 are the Eli Young Band and Tim McGraw who make single-point gains. Moving with more haste is Dierks Bentley, whose lusty "5-1-5-0" jumps from #10 to #6. Also making headway are Gloriana's "(Kissed You) Good Night" at #9 and Kenny Chensey's "Come Over" at #10. Expect more from both of them in the weeks ahead.

Comments

Josh Turner proves he's no punching bag (pun alert!) with his fifth album... Punching Bag, bowing in at #1 this week. Alan Jackson remains strong with Thirty Miles West, last week's headliner, which dropped down to #2 in its second week of release. Meanwhile, the ubiquitious NOW series unleashed its fifth country compilation --stocked with hits from Toby Keith ("Red Solo Cup"), Miranda Lambert ("Baggage Claim"), and David Nail ("Let It Rain") -- bringing it in at #4. More surprisingly, the girl group Edens Edge came in at #9 with their self-titled debut.

Comments

Eric Church and Luke Bryan may have crossover hits on their hands. Both singers cracked into the teens on the radio this week with their respective singles "Springsteen" and "Drunk on You," pushing ahead of emo rapper Drake at #20 with "Take Care." While Brantley Gilbert stays put at #23, the Eli Young Band surge ahead from #29 to #24 with "Even If It Breaks Your Heart." Less strident is Carrie Underwood's "Good Girl," which continues to plummet, this week from #25 to #32.
