Comments

Miranda Lambert's "Over You" claims the top spot this week with her ballad "Over You." She co-wrote the song with her husband, Blake Shelton, who's otherwise nowhere to be found on the country singles top 10. Too bad, Blake. Just below Lambert is Jason Aldean, whose "Fly Over States" was at #4 last week. Kip Moore is the dark horse of country's top tier this week. His 31-week-old single "Somethin' 'Bout a Truck" makes its first entry into the top five at, you guessed it, #5. Meanwhile, new singles by Little Big Town, Blake Shelton, and Montgomery Gentry debut smack dab in the center of the top 100.

Top 5 Country Albums

  1. Carrie Underwood - Blown Away
  2. Lionel Richie - Tuskegee
  3. Lee Brice - Hard 2 Love
  4. Kip Moore - Up All Night
  5. Luke Bryan - Tailgates & Tanlines

Hot New Country Albums

Comments

Carrie Underwood new album Blown Away thunders into the charts at #1, displacing Lionel Richie's duet collection Tuskegee to #2. Luke Bryan's Tailgates & Tanlines, a constant on the top 5 for most of 2012, resumes its tenure at #3. And Lee Brice's new album Hard 2 Love falls back slightly from #2 to #4. Kip Moore's debut album Up All Night managed to survive its second week of release at #5. Further down the charts, Martina McBride's Eleven makes a big jump from #55 to #46, but the news isn't so hot for the Josh Abbott Band. Their Small Town Family Dream dropped from #5 to #16. Ouch.

Hot New Radio Country Songs

Comments

There's not really much to add, since this week's radio charts closely follow the general country singles charts. But watch out for Underwood's ear-candy, "Good Girl," to climb up into the twenties om the coming weeks and challenge Miranda Lambert for dominance. Can you say cat fight? No, of course not; that would be sexist.
