Horse of a Different Color - Big & Rich

Horse of a Different Color - Big & Rich

Tim McGraw’s "Live Like You Were Dyin'" remains at the Top of the country singles charts for a seventh week. I really thought it would have dropped, having lost its bullet, and this is the third week it hasn’t had a bullet, yet it still is at the top position. Once more I will predict that we’ll have a new number one next week. Let’s see if I’m correct this time. Kenny Chesney’s "I Go Back," is at No. 2 for a third week, but it’s lost its bullet and I don’t see it going any higher. At No. 3 is Keith Urban’s "Days Go By," which does have a bullet and moves up two spots from last week. This is the song I predict will be the next No. 1. At No. 4 is Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss with "Whiskey Lullaby." This song has lost its bullet, and in fact has already dropped one spot from last week. At No. 5 is Terri Clark’s ”Girls Lie Too,” moving up one spot from last week.

Catherine Britt has the song, ”The Upside of Being Down” with the most upward chart movement. It moves nine spots from No. 55 to No. 46. Pat Green, with ”Don’t Break My Heart Again” is a close second, moving up eight spots from No. 49 to No. 41. Emerson Drive with ”November” is third, moving up six spots from No. 58 to No. 52.

Jimmy Buffett has a new song on the charts this week, debuting at No. 45 with ”Trip Around The Sun,” which is a duet with Martina McBride. Debuting at No. 48 is country funnyman Cledus T. Judd with ”I Love Nascar.” Reba McEntire debuts at No. 50 with ”He Gets That From Me.” Kenny Chesney has a new song, debuting at No. 54, called ”The Woman With You.” At No. 57 is LeAnn Rimes with ”Nothin 'Bout Love Makes Sense.” At No. 58 is Tim McGraw with ”Back When.”

On the album charts Big and Rich have made their move to the No. 1 spot this week with Horse of a Different Color. Way to go guys! At No. 2 is Jimmy Buffett’s Platinum-selling License to Chill. At No. 3 is Gretchen Wilson’s Here For The Party. At No. 4 is Brad Paisley with Mud on the Tires, and Kenny Chesney’s at No. 5 with When The Sun Goes Down.

Travis Tritt releases My Honky Tonk History, which debuts at No. 7. Tim McGraw’s Live Like You Were Dyin' was just released on August 24th, so it really shouldn’t be on this chart. Perhaps some store went ahead and sold copies of the album last week? I’m not really sure, but it’s debuting at No. 54 this week. Very strange.

NOTE: All chart rankings are based on the song or album's position on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart or Billboard Country Albums Chart for September 4, 2004.
