Top 10 Country Singles
King George does it again. What, you ask? His song "She Let Herself Go" becomes his 52nd No. 1 single. Way to go! Carrie Underwood makes her move at the top with "Jesus, Take The Wheel," which moves up one spot to No. 2 this week. Dropping from the top spot last week is Billy Currington's "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right." Garth Brooks remains at No. 4 with "Good Ride Cowboy," while Trace Adkins moves up one spot with "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk." In spots six through ten, we have Dierks Bentley dropping one with "Come A Little Closer", Joe Nichols staying put at No. 7 with "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off," while Brad Paisley charges into the Top 10, moving up three spots to No. 8 this week, with "When I Get Where I'm Going," with Dolly Parton singing backing vocals. Remaining at No. 9 is Little Big Town's "Boondocks," while Kenny Chesney's "Who You'd Be Today" drops to No. 10. Next week, I expect to see George Strait at the top once more.
Moving Up at the Speed of Light
After the holiday slump in the charts, things are moving a bit more slowly. Kenny Chesney's latest single, "Living In Fast Forward" is making forward movement up the chart, from No. 32 last week to No. 26 this week. Rascal Flatts' "Here's To You" is the only other song with any significant upward movement, moving up five to No. 54 from No. 60.
The Latest Tunes To Hit The Air Waves
Brand new this week are Epic's Susan Haynes' "Drinkin' In My Sunday Dress," debuting at No. 56, and Steve Holy's "Brand New Girlfriend" debuting at No. 60. Jeff Bates' "No Shame" re-enters at No. 58, and Carolina Rain's "Let's Get It On" re-enters at No. 59.
