Trace Adkins - Songs About Me

Top 10 Country Singles
Craig Morgan makes it three weeks at the top of the charts with "That's What I Love About Sunday." While the song still has a bullet, it is losing spins and won't see another week at the top. At No. 2 is Sugarland's "Baby Girl," which lost its bullet, unfortunately. I was hoping they'd have their first No. 1 song next week, but it should be our No. 3 song that takes over the top of the spot next week. That song comes from Kenny Chesney, with "Anything But Mine." Brooks & Dunn's "It's Getting Better All the Time" moves up two spots to No. 4, while Montgomery Gentry does likewise with "Gone" at No. 5. Dropping two spots to No. 6 is Josh Gracin's former No. 1, "Nothin' to Lose." Jo Dee Messina continues her journey to the top with "My Give a Damn's Busted," which moves up two spots to No. 7. At No. 8 is Rascal Flatts' "Bless the Broken Road," dropping three spots. Andy Griggs moves up three to No. 9 with "If Heaven," while Lee Ann Womack remains at No. 10 with "I May Hate Myself in the Morning."

Moving Up at the Speed of Light
Reba McEntire is the holder of the fastest rising song this week with "My Sister." The song has been on the charts for four weeks, and this week moves up nine from No. 51 to No. 42. There are three songs tied for second place, all moving up eight spots. Rascal Flatts' "Fast Cars And Freedom" moves from No. 41 to No. 33. Alan Jackson's "The Talkin' Song Repair Blues" moves from No. 45 to No. 37. Cowboy Troy's "I Play Chicken With The Train" debuted last week at No. 56, and moves to No. 48 this week.

The Latest Tunes To Hit The Air Waves
George Strait releases a new tune this week, called "You'll Be There." The song debuts at an impressive No. 30, but then this is George Strait. 'Nuff said. :) Jamie O'Neal's "Somebody's Hero" debuts at No. 55. Deana Carter releases "One Day At A Time," debuting at No. 57, and Trace Adkins releases a "get-out-of-that-chair-and-dance" tune, as the second single from his Songs About Me album called "Honky Tonk Badonka Donk," which debuts at No. 58.

Top 10 Country Album Charts
The aforementioned Trace Adkins debuts at the top of the heap this week with Songs About Me. Way to go Trace! At No. 2, moving up two places is Kenny Chesney's Be As You Are: Songs from an Old Blue Chair, and Rascal Flatts with Feels Like Today drops one to No. 3, while Gretchen Wilson's Here For The Party moves up two to No. 4. Holding at No. 5 is Shania's Greatest Hits, while the Totally Country 4 compilation drops drops three spots to No. 6. Tim McGraw's Live Like You Were Dyin' and Kenny Chesney's When The Sun Goes Down remain at No. 7 and No. 8 respectively. Toby Keith's Greatest Hits 2 remains at No. 9, while George Strait's 50 Number Ones moves up a spot to No. 10.

New Album Releases
Beside's Trace's No. 1 debut, the Nashville Star 2005 Finalists cd debuts at No. 72 this week.

NOTE: All chart rankings are based on the song or album's position on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart or Billboard Country Albums Chart for April 9, 2005.
