Top 10 Country Singles
Craig Morgan once again remains on top, making it four straight weeks at No. 1. The last time this happened with an independent label's single, it was 1977, with the Kendall's "Heaven's Just a Sin Away." (See Matt's Article on Craig's achievement.) As a matter of fact, Craig's single is still bulleted, and it may even stay on top for a fifth straight week. Amazing. At No. 2 is Kenny Chesney's "Anything But Mine." I bet it's a strange feeling for Kenny to be held back from the No. 1 spot. So many times his singles have done this to other songs that have gone as high as No. 2, but just couldn't hold on long enough to push to the top. Kenny's single is also bulleted, so it may yet reach No. 1, whether it's next week, or the week following. At No. 3 is Brooks and Dunn's "It's Getting Better All the Time," with rival duo Montgomery Gentry on their heels at No. 4 with "Gone." Both songs move up one spot from last week. At No. 5, dropping three spots is Sugarland's "Baby Girl." Jo Dee Messina moves up one to 6 with "My Give a Damn's Busted." I just love this song. It's got a fun video as well. At No. 7, moving up two spots is Andy Griggs' "If Heaven." At one time, I really thought this song was going to die around 15 or so. The song had lost its bullet and I believe it even started going down the charts for a week, but rebounded the following week. Andy's fans are really pushing this one to the top; a place it deserves to be. This song tells a story that many people can relate to, and it's obvious that it's something people want to keep hearing. At No. 8, dropping two spots, is Josh Gracin's "Nothin' to Lose." Moving up two spots this week is Gretchen Wilson, with "Homewrecker," while Lee Ann Womack is just hovering at No. 10 for a third week in a row with "I May Hate Myself in the Morning."
Moving Up at the Speed of Light
Rascal Flatts song "Fast Cars And Freedom" is this week's fastest-rising song, moving up eight from No 33 to No. 25 this week. George Strait's "You'll Be There" moves up six, from No. 30 to No. 24.
The Latest Tunes To Hit The Air Waves
After their 39 week run with "Baby Girl," Sugarland releases a second single from their Twice the Speed of Life album; "Something More," which debuts this week at No. 49. New Warner Brothers artist Lauren Lucas releases the attitude-infused "What You Ain't Gonna Get" this week, debuting at No. 52. Ryan Shupe & The Rubber Band debut this week at No. 57 with "Dream Big." Miranda Lambert releases her second single from her brand new album, Kerosene called "Bring Me Down,"[/b and debuting at No. 58. Neal McCoy is back with the fun "Billy's Got His Beer Goggles On," debuting at No. 60. Good to see Neal back on the charts.
Top 10 Country Album Charts
Former Blue Collar Comedy Tour comedian Larry The Cable Guy tops the Country Charts with his latest release, The Right to Bare Arms. At No. 2 is Rascal Flatts Feels Like Today, which moves up one from last week. Gretchen Wilson's Here For The Party also moves up one to claim the No. 3 spot, while Trace Adkins drops from the top spot last week to No. 4 with Songs About Me. At No. 5, dropping three is Kenny Chesney's Be As You Are: Songs from an Old Blue Chair. Moving from No. 6 to No. 5 is Shania Twain's Greatest Hits, while the Totally Country 4 moves down one to No. 7. Debuting at No. 8 this week is Billy Dean with Let Them Be Little. Kenny Chesney's When The Sun Goes Down finds himself down one at No. 9, and Tim McGraw's Live Like You Were Dyin' drops three to round out the Top 10.
New Album Releases
Larry the Cable Guy and Billy Dean are the only two new releases this week.
