Top 10 Country Singles
Jo Dee Messina must be on top of the world this week. Not only is her song, "My Give a Damn's Busted" the No. 1 song on the Country Singles chart, but her album, Delicious Surprise tops the Country Albums charts. Way to go Jo Dee! I just love the song. I expect it to hold on for a second week. At No. 2, moving up four spots is Gretchen Wilson's "Homewrecker." At No. 3, moving up one is Craig Morgan's "That's What I Love About Sunday." Dropping from the top spot last week is Brooks & Dunn's "It's Getting Better All the Time." Andy Griggs' "If Heaven" moved up two to No. 5. Kenny Chesney drops four to No. 6 with "Anything But Mine," while Joe Nichols moves up two with "What's a Guy Gotta Do." Remaining at No. 8 is Trace Adkins' "Songs About Me." Keith Urban moves up three to No. 9 with "Making Memories of Us," and Montgomery Gentry round out the Top 10 with "Gone."
Moving Up at the Speed of Light
If there was ever an award for fastest-moving song, Brad Paisley's "Alcohol" would definitely be up there in the Top 3. I don't think I've ever seen a song move so fast. Brad's song debuted last week at No. 60, and this week moves an astounding 19 spots to No. 41. Wow! Labelmate Sara Evans comes a distant second with her latest, "A Real Fine Place To Start," which moves up nine from No. 57 to No. 48. Tied for third is Kenny Chesney's "Keg In The Closet" (No. 38 - No. 31), and Trisha Yearwood's "Georgia Rain" (No. 45 - No. 38.)
The Latest Tunes To Hit The Air Waves
Nashville Star winner Erika Jo has this week's top charting debut, with "I Break Things," debuting at No. 53. Mark Chesnutt has "A Hard Secret To Keep" debuting at No. 59 this week.
Top 10 Country Album Charts
On the album charts, as mentioned above, Jo Dee has dethroned Larry the Cable Guy's The Right to Bare Arms, which moves to No. 2 this week. Keith Urban remains at No. 3 with Be Here, while Rascal Flatts drop two places to No. 4 with Feels Like Today. Buddy Jewell debuts his sophomore album, Times Like These at No. 5 this week. Gretchen Wilson drops two spots to No. 6 with Here For The Party. Sugarland also drops two spots to No. 7 with Twice the Speed of Life, while Kenny Chesney remains at No. 8 with When The Sun Goes Down. The Totally Country 4 sits at No. 9, while Kenny Chesney has a second place on the Top 10, coming in at No. 10 with Be As You Are: Songs from an Old Blue Chair.
