George Strait tops not only the Country Singles chart with "I Hate Everything," but the Country Albums chart with 50 Number Ones, selling 330,533 copies of the album this week. Sara Evans' "Suds in the Bucket" drops one this week to No. 2. Remaining at No. 3 is Keith Urban's "Days Go By." Gretchen Wilson's "Here for the Party" remains at No. 4 for the third week. At No. 5 is Toby Keith's "Stays in Mexico," which moves up one spot from last week. I believe George will hang on to the top spot for an additional week, while Toby's song looks to be the next No. 1, maybe the following week.
Tracy Byrd is speeding up the charts with "Revenge of a Middle-Aged Woman," which moves from No. 60 to No. 49 this week. Tied for second fastest-rising song are Alan Jackson's "Monday Morning Church" and Jamie O'Neal's "Trying To Find Atlantis," both moving up 10, Alan from No. 47 to No. 37, and Jamie from No. 48 to No. 38. Shelly Fairchild's "You Don't Lie Here Anymore" comes in third, moving up 9, from No. 52 to No. 43 this week.
We have new music from first season Nashville Star finalist Miranda Lambert, with "Me And Charlie Talking," debuting at No. 42. A song I just heard on the radio today, and just love is Lee Ann Womack's "I May Hate Myself In The Morning" which will remind fans what a great country voice she has. This is an excellent song, and it debuts at No. 58.
On the album chart, beside George Strait's No. 1 debut, we have new albums from John Denver, with Definitive All-Time Greatest Hits, debuting at No. 9, and Katrina Elam's self-titled album debuts at No. 42.
NOTE: All chart rankings are based on the song or album's position on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart or Billboard Country Albums Chart for October 23, 2004.
