On the Charts - Billboard Country Singles and Albums

For week of November 26, 2005

From Jennifer Webb, for About.com

Top 10 Country Singles
For the second week in a row my prediction has been wrong. Keith Urban's "Better Life" held on for a sixth week at No. 1, while Kenny Chesney stayed at No. 2 for the second week with, "Who You'd Be Today." Joe Nichols jumped two spots to No. 3 with "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off," Dierks Bentley lands "Come A Little Closer" at No. 4, and Rascal Flatts' "Skin (Sarabeth)" hits No. 5. Garth Brooks' "Good Ride Cowboy" seems to be stuck at No. 6, while Gary Allan advances two spots with No. 7's "Best I Ever Had." Lonestar also remains in their No. 8 spot with "You're Like Comin' Home." Toby Keith's "Big Blue Note" manages to jump a single spot to No. 9 and "Billy's Got His Beer Goggles On," by Neal McCoy, moves into the Top 10 landing on No. 10. With Keith Urban losing spins and Dierks Bentley gaining I will guess for the third week in a row that Keith Urban will be unseated, this time with Dierks hitting No. 1. Then again, I could be wrong.

Moving Up at the Speed of Light
Four songs wound up jumping five spaces this week, including Ray Scott's "My Kind Of Music" at No. 43, Sara Evans' "Cheatin'" at No. 36, Jamey Johnson's "The Dollar" at No. 31, and Carrie Underwood's "Jesus Take The Wheel" at No. 18. Doing a little better is Danielle Peck's "I Don't," jumping a total of six spaces. The Randy Rogers Band is making their way up the charts with "Down And Out" advancing a total of seven spaces to No. 49. The biggest jump of the week goes to No. 46 - "Living In Fast Forward," by Kenny Chesney.

The Latest Tunes To Hit The Air Waves
Four new songs hit the charts this week: No. 60's "Summertime," by Kenny Chesney, No. 59's "8th Of November," by Big & Rich, Shedaisy's No. 57 song, "I'm Taking The Wheel," at No. 57, and Tracy Lawrence's "If I Don't Make It Back" at No. 55.

Top 10 Country Album Charts
No surprise here - Kenny Chesney (officially) debuted at No. 1 with his album, The Road & The Radio and Martina McBride's Timeless moved to No. 2. Rascal Flatts sit tight in the No. 3 spot with their album, Feels Like Today, while Johnny Cash's The Legend Of Jonny Cash jumps a single space to No. 4. Trace Adkins' Songs About Me leaps eight spaces to land back into the Top 10 at No. 5. Billy Currington's Doin' Somethin' Right jumped three spaces to No. 6, Gretchen Wilson is still All Jacked Up at No. 7, and Sugarland is enjoying their three spot advance to No. 8 with Twice The Speed Of Life. Faith Hill's Fireflies fluttered to No. 9, while Montgomery Gentry's latest, Something To Be Proud Of: The Best Of 1999-2005, dropped eight spots to No. 10.

New Album Releases
The only new album on this week's charts happens to be Kenny Chesney's The Road & The Radio. Despite being No. 58 last week, it wasn't officially released, so Kenny Chesney debuted at No. 1.

NOTE: All chart rankings are based on the song or album's position on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart or Billboard Country Albums Chart for November 26, 2005.
