We have a new No. 1 this week as Tim McGraw moves up from No. 2 to take the top spot with "Back When." Blake Shelton moves up two spots and claims the runner-up spot with "Some Beach." Dropping down to No. 3 is the former No. 1 from Gary Allan, "Nothing On But The Radio." At No. 4 dropping one is Kenny Chesney's "The Woman With You." At No. 5 is Darryl Worley's "Awful Beautiful Life," which moves up from No. 7 last week. I predict Blake Shelton will be our No. 1 next week.
Songs aren't moving up in the charts as quickly as they had earlier in the room. Everything has a slower pace. Our fastest rising song this week belongs to Brooks & Dunn, with "It's Getting Better All The Time," which moves from No. 45 to No. 37. Phil Vassar's "I'll Take That As A Yes (The Hot Tub Song)" moves up 5 from No. 47 to No. 42, while Jimmy Wayne's "Paper Angels" moves up 4 from No. 31 to No. 27.
Trace Adkins debuts this week with "Songs About Me," at No. 53. The song is from his upcoming album, due out in early 2005, and it's a perfect fit for Trace's style. Blue County releases their third single from their self-titled debut called "Nothin' But Cowboy Boots." The song debuts at No. 54. Cledus T. Judd has a new song out, "Bake Me A Country Ham" (a parody of "Paint Me a Birmingham"") and it debuts at No. 58. At No. 59 is a new one from Deryl Dodd, called "Let Me Be." Victor Sanz debuts at No. 60 with "Tell Me What You Wanna Do."
The Top 5 Country Albums remain unchanged from last week, with Shania's Greatest Hits at No. 1, Toby Keith at No. 2 with his Greatest Hits 2 package. Tim McGraw's Live Like You Were Dyin' holds on to No. 3. At No. 4 is George Strait's 50 Number Ones, and at No. 5 is Gretchen Wilson's Here For The Party.
Debuting on the album charts at No. 70 this week is Clint Black's Christmas With You. Kenny Rogers releases Christmas With Kenny, which debuts at No. 74.
NOTE: All chart rankings are based on the song or album's position on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart or Billboard Country Albums Chart for December 18, 2004.
