Spotlight on Clint Black

It's quite amazing that until this CD, with "Desperado," every song included on a Clint Black CD was written or co-written by himself. "Like The Rain" was the first single and eighth number one from this collection. Other songs not available anywhere else are: "Wherever You Go," and "Cadillac Jack Favor."

Clint Black's debut album thundered onto the country airwaves in 1989, perking up ears and turning heads wherever his finely-honed tenor was heard. The album contains five consecutive No. 1 hits with "A Better Man," "Killin' Time," "Nothing's News," "Walkin' Away," and "Nobody's Home." It is heart-searing and uncompromisingly country in its emotional content and theme.

Released In 1995, this CD became an instant holiday classic. All of the songs were written by Clint Black, as was the case on ALL his CD's until his Greatest Hits I CD. This is an amazing feat considering the fact that most artists rely on the greats of yester-year, like "White Christmas," or "Away In The Manger," and add one or two new songs.

Clint Black had a lot to live up to after the thundering perfection of his critically and popularly acclaimed debut, "Killin' Time." While it did not win the same accolades of that debut, Clint's second album, "Put Yourself in My Shoes," is nonetheless a tremendous disc.
