The Sixth Annual Andy Griggs Celebrity Archery Tournament was held in the Sports Zone at the LP field on Thursday, June 7, on one of the hottest days of the week. Despite the heat, fans packed the bleachers and there was standing room only well before the event began.
Prior to the start of competition hats and tee shirts were tossed to spectators courtesy of sponsors Mossy Oak, Hunter Safety System and USA.
Jesse and Ginger Morehead were the announcers and kept the crowd informed of the scores for each contestant. A new format was introduced this year which seemed to be met with mixed reaction from the crowd.
In the end the the top shot was Rusty Tabor, second place went to Craig Morgan and Rhean Boyer of Carolina Rain placed third. Some of the other participants in addition to Andy Griggs were Blake Shelton, Ty England, Daniel Lee Martin, Jeremy Baxter (Carolina Rain) and Neil Thrasher.
The Sportsman's Channel was on hand to tape the competition to be aired at a later date.
