Regardless of the summer heat, it did not stop the stars from coming out and supporting a great cause. Divided into two teams, they played softball and signed autographs to help raise money for the 17th Annual City Of Hope Softball Game. The two teams were the "After Midnite" team, which consisted of Brad Mates of Emerson Drive, Zac and Angela Hacker, Jake Owen, Jason Michael Carroll, Keith Anderson, Keni Thomas, Linda Davis and players from the Tennessee Titans. The "Grand Ole Opry" team consisted of Carrie Underwood, Craig Morgan, Vince Gill, Dusty Drake, Trick Pony, Two Foot Fred, and others.
During the game, everyone was at their own risk. Stars took their chances at cheating and chasing after each other, which ended up getting Carrie Underwood tackled. Carrie was a great sport about it though. When she was up to bat, she patiently scoped out the perfect swing, but it did not go exactly where she planned. It ended up heading straight towards "After Midnite's" Aaron Benward (one half of country duo Blue County), who eventually played on her sympathy by falling to the ground.
All the stars seemed to have a great time pulling pranks on each other and at the end of the game everyone knew it was for a great cause. "The Grand Ole Opry" team eventually won the game, but everyone knew it was City Of Hope that truly wins, because they help cancer, diabetes, and any patients with life threatening illnesses throughout the country.
