The 9th Annual Andy Griggs Fan Club Party was held on Thursday, June 5, at The Rutledge on Fourth Ave South, Nashville at 11:00 AM. There was not an empty seat in the house!
The fans attending were treated to lunch and then were allowed time to visit with old friends and make new ones before Andy and his guest artists, Rhett Akins and Marty Brown took the stage for an amazing acoustic show which featured songs of every emotion, with stories and humor intertwined between the songs. We heard new material and old material, sad songs and happy songs, and several very funny stories.
Andy to do a Gospel Album?
Andy also announced during the show that one of the projects in the works will be something he has always wanted to do and his fans have always wanted him to do -- a Gospel album. It will be hard waiting for that to happen but no doubt well worth the wait. Some of the songs played were "Don't Get Me Started," "It's All About The Money," "For Your Heart Only," "Friends With Tractors," "Cutthroat, Montana," "Your Biggest Fan," "Superman," "Down South," "If You're Going To Do Me Wrong" and the show closed with "How Cool Is That" and "You Won't Ever Be Lonely."
Following the show, Andy leisurely met for photos and autographs with each and every fan in attendance. All left saying this was his best party yet, and looking forward to next year's party.
Thanks so much to The Fan Clubhouse for their dedication and hard work all year long but especially for planning such great parties year after year.
We would also like to thank the staff at The Rutledge for their hospitality and attention to every detail to make Andy's party such a success.
