The Triple Threat Tour consists of three great country groups - Blackhawk, Little Texas, and Restless Heart. A great lineup I couldn't wait to see, so we got our tickets as soon as they went on sale and were lucky enough to get front row seats.
Of the three groups, I had seen Blackhawk once, back in the mid 1990's when they were first starting out. I had never seen Little Texas or Restless Heart, but have always enjoyed their music, and I couldn't wait for the show.
We arrived at Feather Falls Casino around 5:00 and stopped at the buffet for dinner, before playing some slots (it was Ladies Night, and we each got $7.00 in free slot play, which didn't last too long, but it was fun) and then headed into the showroom shortly after 7:00 pm.
A little after 8:00, Scott Michaels of KALF radio came on stage and introduced Restless Heart. The guys hit the stage with a cover of ZZ Top's "Sharp Dressed Man"
Larry Stewart is the lead singer, and he said that after 22 years, the original 5 members of the group were back together again. They released an album last year, for the first time in 14 years, called Still Restless. The group sang their big hits like "Bluest Eyes in Texas," "When She Cries," and "I'll Still Be Loving You," as well as some newer songs, like "Same Boat Now," and a song they wrote for the troops, when they went to perform for them overseas. I'm not positive of the song title, but it was a beautiful song. I just love the harmonies. They sound as good as they did back in the 1980's!
Paul Gregg (bassist for the group) made a joke about when they first were touring in the 80's, they were on the Hide Your Daughters tour. By the 90s, it was the Hide Your Mothers tour, and after the millennium, it was the Hide Your Grannys tour.
The band played about 45 - 50 minutes, and I really enjoyed the show.
