Blake Shelton Live at Konocti Harbor Resort - January 14, 2005.

Blake Shelton performed at Konocti Harbor Resort in Kelseyville, CA on January 14, 2005. Opening the show that night was local band "The Shannon Rider Band." I had seen them open for John Michael Montgomery 2 months ago, and it was good to get to see them again. They have a lot of energy, and Shannon has an awesome voice. Everything they sang was covers of other artists. No original stuff. But that's good too, as I think people can enjoy your show more when you are playing songs they've heard of mostly.

The group played for about 45 minutes, singing songs like "Blue Moon of Kentucky," "I'm From the Country," "Born to Boogie," and "I Feel Lucky."

This was my first time seeing Blake. I'd been wanting to see him ever since he first came out, but this was the first time he played in my area, where I was able to do so.

After a 30-minute intermission to set up Blake's equipment, we all rose to our feet to welcome Blake to the stage. He started his set with a cut from Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill called "Good Old Boy, Bad Old Boyfriend." From there he moved into a cover of his own of the Bellamy Brothers' "Redneck Girl."

Blake was dressed in a light blue shirt and jeans with a black hat, and looking fine! The fan favorite "Playboys of the Southwestern World" was next.

Blake took the time to address the crowd, saying it was his first weekend out on the road in 2005, and the first show since "Some Beach" went to No. 1, and he thanked everyone for supporting the song.

We were treated to a fun story where Blake apologized to the people that were in the meet and greet earlier. He said he was fishing earlier and he did take a shower, but it was before he went fishing. He told us that he had recently released his third album, and said he would like to do a few songs from it, and from there played "Nobody But Me."

One of my favorite moments in the show was when Blake said "Look at this...Look at this...Look at this..." (I guess he was trying to get his guitar tuned just right for the next part as he then played the intro to "Austin" and the crowd went nuts.)

Blake is definitely someone who is into traditional country, and he made this known saying "The biggest problem with me is that I like old country, and not this new crap." He said he wanted to sing a couple of songs from some of the great country stars. From there he sang "It's Been a Great Afternoon," and "She Don't Love Nobody."
