On Sunday, April 3, Lee Ann Womack hit the Twin Oaks Mansion stage in Silver Springs, FL. It was a beautiful spring day, and the perfect setting for an outdoor concert. Lee Ann took the stage at 3:00 pm in jeans and a pink top. It was her first weekend back on the road after a long break, and she said she was thrilled to be out again. The lawn was packed with fans, and Lee Ann did not disappoint them. She sang many of her past hits, like the mega hit "I Hope You Dance," "Ashes By Now" and "I'll Think of A Reason Later," along with her current hit, "I May Hate Myself In The Morning," and her newest single, "He Ought To Know That By Now."
Her newest album is There's More Where That Came From, and the songs she sang off of it were terrific. She is back to the traditional sound after spending a couple of years in 'pop' land, and she sounds great.
Lee Ann has a beautiful voice, and some say it is one of the purest in Nashville today. During her show, she concentrates on singing and isn't real big on audience interaction. She does chat a little bit, but she doesn't move around too much and just belts out some great traditional country music. It was a good show, and well worth going to see if you like Lee Ann's music.
