When I heard that Josh Turner was going to be coming to a venue within an hour of where I live, I immediately looked into prices of tickets, and found out that not only was Josh coming, but Rockie Lynne was going to be opening the show. I'm a member of Josh's fan club, and I have loved Rockie since I first heard the single "Lipstick" so I knew I was not going to miss this show.

Billed as the Young Hunks of Country Tour these two both highly fit the bill. My friend Dianne and I got our Meet & Greet with Josh, and fourth row seats. We were good to go.

If there was one thing I could have changed, it would have been to have an aisle seat, rather than be in the center of the row. We were in the fourth row, which was fine, and shortly after 7:00, Rockie hit the stage with "Super Country Cowboy." Next up was "Every Man's Got a Mountain."

Rockie told us that he got married when he was quite young. He was 20-years-old, and he said that the world looks so different at 20 than it does when you're 30. This lead into his current single, "Do We Still," which is about Rockie's divorce. He wrote all the songs on his debut album, and they're all parts of his life.

"I love visiting California," Rockie proclaimed. "I just don't like driving here. Where I come from, we have a lot of farms, and I drive in my car like I drive on my tractor. I guess when you guys honk and wave at me, you're just being friendly." He then went on to tell about being adopted when he was 4-years-old, and spent several years in different homes before he was adopted by his mom. He said she was an amazing woman. He said when he used to say "I love you" to her, she'd answer him "I love you more." That is where he came up with the song, "More." The chorus goes "I would give you my seat on the train to heaven, if only one of us could go." Very touching song.

In introducing his hit, "Lipstick" he said that the song was #1 in Sales for 12 weeks, and thanked everyone that bought a copy. His final song was the patriotic "Red, White and Blue." He wrote the song, which became the theme song for America Supports You. He is a former military man himself, and he dedicated it to the troops, and mentioned he'd be performing for the troops in Bagdad from December 14-19th.

Rockie is an amazing guitarist. I'd put him right up there with Keith Urban and Brad Paisley. He's also a wonderful human being with an incredible voice. His show was a bit brief, as he was the opening act. Only 45 minutes or so, but if you see he's coming to your town, do go and check out his show. You won't be sorry.
