It's been several years since I've seen Tim McGraw in concert, and I've never had the opportunity to see Faith, so I was really excited that the Soul 2 Soul II tour included a stop in Sacramento, CA. My friend Dianne and I both joined the Soul 2 Soul Fan Club, which allows us access to pre-sale tickets, and after the pre-sale, we ended up with tickets in the lower level corner, row N, which was only 1 row further away than we were for George Strait. We were all set.

The night of the show we parked the car and headed for our seats, thinking we were in the middle of the row, but were happy to find out we were only 2 seats from the end, so not that bad at all. The location was pretty decent. I wouldn't have minded being about 6 rows closer, but we had a good view of two of the four ramps.

The show was due to start at 8:00 pm, but actually started around 8:30 pm. The venue was full up, and everyone was anxious for the show to begin. As the lights went down, and the music started for "Like We Never Loved At All," Faith and Tim rose up from beneath the stage at opposite ends of the ramps, facing away from each other. Faith was on our right, wearing a burgandy blouse and gray slacks, and Tim was on the left ramp, wearing jeans and a black tank.

The duo continued the song, facing away from each other the whole time, and at the end of the song, they both left the stage, and everything went black. Soon the floor of the stage turned yellow, and we heard "follow the yellow brick road" from 'The Wizard of Oz.' Soon, Faith appeared once more, and launched into "Mississippi Girl." She now had a black sleeveless tank and gray slacks, with a burgandy scarf on one wrist.

Faith worked the entire stage, and the various runways to some extent, but mainly stayed closer to the center of the stage. Most of the songs were from her current album, and the three before it. Not so much from her first two albums.

We learned that today was Faith and Tim's daughter Maggie's 8th birthday, and we got to sing happy birthday to her. Faith said she wasn't in the building, but she would make sure it got taped and she'd play it for her afterwards.
