February 13, 2008 - "The Best of The Johnny Cash TV Show," a 2-DVD set from Columbia/Legacy, has achieved RIAA platinum certification within a few months of its release, a demonstration of the ongoing durability of the man and his music.

The DVD features 66 definitive performances from the historic television show, which ran on ABC-TV from 1969-1971. The DVD has been certified both Gold and Platinum by the RIAA in recognition of sales exceeding 100,000 copies since the set's release on September 17, 2007. The title has sold over than 115,000 copies to-date.

Some of the performances included feature Stevie Wonder's "Heaven Help Us All," Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Bad Moon Rising," Waylon Jenning's "Only Daddy That'll Walk The Line," Tammy Wynette's "Stand By Your Man," James Taylor's "Sweet Baby James," and Hank Williams Jr.'s medley of his father's hits, "You Win Again," "Cold Cold Heart," "I Can't Help It If I'm Still In Love With You," and "Half As Much" - to name a few.

Future DVD volumes of The Johnny Cash TV Show are being prepared but no release dates are set.
