Radney Foster - "Half Of My Mistakes"
I first heard this song when the Blue Dogs recorded it, and Radney's version of his own song is really good, and I really hope Country Radio gives him a shot with it. Radney is one of the best working songwriters out there and he deserves to have a hit for himself once in a while. From his This World We Live In CD.
LeAnn Rimes - "Some People"
LeAnn's latest is the fourth (and probably final) release from her 'comeback' album This Woman. After a few Top 10 hits, including the No. 1 hit "Something's Gotta Give." "Some People" is a nice 'pop' based track that will continue LeAnn's trend of hits.
Alan Jackson - "Red On A Rose"
I knew the musical partnership between Alan Jackson and Alison Krauss was gonna be special and this song, produced by Alison, is a wonderfully laid back and interesting song from Alan. It's got all the makings of a special hit. Well done. Certainly a No. 1 in the making.
Lost Trailers - "Why Me"
The Lost Trailers have been kicking around as a band for the last few years and I have liked them from the first time I heard their album Welcome To The Woods. Now signed to BNA Records, the band's first single "Call Me Crazy" didn't do as well as I expected. Still, "Why Me" is as good a song and hopefully it'll hit Top 40 and rise.
Tom Wurth - "Bread On The Table"
A new signee to Aspirion Records, Tom Wurth is a songwriter who's had a few cuts (most notably Ty Herndon's "If The Road Runs Out"). Now, striking out as a singer in his own right, this, his debut single, is a nice track. There's a nice, cool groove to the whole song and Wurth's vocals remind me of Ty England. He's a good country singer and hopefully radio will give this song a shot. I can see it rising up to the Top 20 at least since the melody and lyric are so relatable.
Lane Turner - "Let You Go"
Lane Turner released a few tracks in 2004 but somehow got lost in the shuffle. "Let You Go" is his bid to get airplay and I have a feeling this fun, Keith Urban-meets-George Strait track could really be the trick. Top 25 for sure.
Marty Raybon - "Shenandoah Saturday Night"
Marty Raybon is a great singer and this one recalls his classic hits of old while he was with the band Shenandoah. Marty's taken a few turns since then but his bread and butter will always be his 1990s output with his band. If given a chance, this could be a hit, but I have a feeling it'll garner nothing but 'remember him' spins from radio.
