Pat Green - "Dixie Lullaby"
From Pat's album, Cannonball, this one slows it down, and shows Pat's softer side. I like it. Pat can rock a song out like no other, but this shows that he can also totally nail a ballad with heartfelt emotion.
Steve Holy - "Come On Rain"
This is the number two single from his Brand New Girlfriend CD, and boy, what a 180 from the title track. In this song, his girlfriend is about to leave, and he prays for the weather to keep her from leaving. Not as catchy as "Girlfriend," but I can surely see this as a Top 30 hit.
Kenny Rogers - "The Last Ten Years (Superman)"
Kenny reflects back on the events that have happened over the past ten years. The melody reminds me a lot of Kenny's big hit, "The Greatest." This song is good, but it doesn't scream Top 10 to me.
Jimmy Wayne - "That's All I'll Ever Need"
It's been a while since Jimmy Wayne has been on the airwaves, and this first single from his upcoming Big Machine release has a lot of promise. I like how in the verses it's very gentle with a picking mandolin, then the chorus brings on the power. Easily a Top 20 song.
Gary Nichols - "I Can't Love You Anymore" I love Gary Nichols soulful voice. When his first single was released, I also heard this track, and I thought they should have released this one first. Hopefully, this one will hit the Top 10, and we'll get to hear Gary's album.
