Gary Allan - "A Feelin' Like That"
Gary is starting to be like Tim McGraw, in the fact that he truly knows how to pick songs that fit his voice. After a stream of slower songs, he releases this upbeat number. I definitely see this as at least a Top 5 hit for him.
Gretchen Wilson - "Come To Bed"
John Rich sings harmony with Gretchen on this lovely ballad, and they really sound great together. The two will perform the track on the CMA Awards show next week. This is the first single from Gretchen's upcoming third album. Gretchen can rock it out like anybody's business, but I especially like her quiet emotive songs like "I Don't Feel Like Loving You Today." This is another one like that, and I think it should do quite well for her.
Mark Wills - "Take It All Out On Me"
It's been a while since we've heard something new from Mark Wills. I don't know what I think about this song. It's ok, but I't not a Top 5 song, in my opinion. Maybe it just needs to grow on me?
Donovan Chapman - "House Like That"
Donovan is a new artist on Category 5 Records, and boy, does he have a likeable voice, and an infectous song here. I was singing along after the first chorus. Labels like Broken Bow, Big Machine and Lofton Creek have proved that you don't have to be a major label to get a big song. This sounds like a Top 10 hit to me.
Rushlow Harris - "Bagpipes Cryin'"
When I saw the title, I wasn't sure what I was going to think of this song. I'm not a big bagpipe fan. This tribute to the troops is pretty cool. I think this could be a Top 20 song, for sure. Might be another song that needs to grow on me. I like it quite a bit already, but am not willing to concede a No. 1 for it.
