What's new on country radio?

Carrie Underwood - "Wasted"
The latest single, and most likely next No. 1 song for Carrie. As usual, she provides a killer vocal performance here. Would you expect anything less from her? According to my list, it wasn't supposed to be released until February, however it's already charting, and has been for 8 weeks now, and is at No. 30.

Eric Church - "Guys Like Me"
He sings about being a blue collar guy who works on cars that had a white collar girlfriend that went to college while he stayed behind working the graveyard shift. She had her pick of trust fund guys, but she came back to him, cuz "girls like you like guys like me." I think this should do well, as a lot of people can probably relate.

PovertyNeck Hillbillies - One Night in New Orleans
I got to see the PovertyNeck Hillbillies at a showcase at last year's ACM Awards in Las Vegas. I love their harmonies and upbeat style. This is a fun little song about a couple meeting down in New Orleans. The girl speaks French, and the guy doesn't, but they communicate just fine on the dance floor.

Cole Deggs & the Lonesome - "I Got More"
Cole Deggs & the Lonesome are a brand new group on Columbia Nashville. This great sounding country rock single that reminds me of something that Montgomery Gentry would do. One listen will leave you wanting "more" music from this great new band. I know it did me. You can listen to the full track on the band's MySpace website.

Rick Trevino - "Separate Ways"
It's been a while since I've heard Rick Trevino on the radio. I'm not crazy about this new single. It's kind of slow and draggy. Hopefully, he's got something better to release, as this one isn't going to make it, in my opinion.

Jason Meadows - 100% Cowboy
I only got to hear a clip from iTunes, but from what I heard, this sounds pretty good. Fans of Nashville Star will remember Jason as one of the Top 10 finalists on Season 3 of the show. Jason is signed to Baccerstick Records, and will be releasing an album this year.
