Chris Young - "You're Gonna Love Me"
I love every single song off Chris Young's self-titled debut album. I don't see how "Drinking Me Lonely" did not become a No. 1 hit, because the song was just awesome. "You're Gonna Love Me" is a feel-good song about a guy telling a girl all the reasons that he is the one for her.
Lance Miller - "She Really Loves Me"
Lance Miller was a finalist on Nashville Star back in Season three, and he's signed with Warner Nashville now. This is the first single from his upcoming debut album, Back in the New School which is due out the end of July. He sang this on one of the Nashville Star episodes. The guy in the song isn't sure why his girlfriend is saying he can go out with the guys, and isn't complaining about him leaving his clothes laying around. Does she really love him, or does she not love him anymore? It's got a nice little groove, and should do pretty well. I don't think it's a No. 1 song, but it should be a Top 20 song.
John Mellencamp - "The Americans"
Although I'm not a huge Mellencamp fan, this song is pretty cool. Talks about accepting people unconditionally. If only everyone could be that way.
Jamie O'Neal - "God Don't Make Mistakes"
I haven't heard the whole song, but the clip I heard sounds great. It's a positive message for anyone who is feeling down on themselves to know that "God Don't Make Mistakes." I think this should do quite well. This is the first single from her upcoming Capitol Nashville release.
Trent Tomlinson - "She Just Might Have Her Radio On"
I really liked "Drunker than Me," but I really discovered Trent Tomlinson when he released "One Wing in the Fire." That song should have gone to No. 1, in my opinion. This one is a cry-in-your-beer weeper about a guy whose girlfriend left her, and he calls up the DJ asking him to play "something that will get her thinking about me, something that will let her know I'm really sorry." Another winner!
Darryl Worley - "Living in the Here and Now"
This is the third single off Darryl's 903 Music album Here and Now. Darryl talks about being an easy going guy, who doesn't plan ahead, doesn't save his money, he just lives in the here and now. I really like the groove on this track.
