Vince Gill - "What You Give Away"
I read somewhere that someone mentioned that this song had a Roy Orbison feel to it, and after listening, I have to agree. Vince is joined by Sheryl Crowe on this song that is a great lesson. "The measure of a man, is one who lends a hand. That's what my father said." I really like it. But then, Vince doesn't sing bad songs.
Halfway to Hazard - "Daisy"
Halfway to Hazard is a new duo of Chad Warrix and David Tolliver on Mercury Nashville. I love their harmonies. This is a pretty little mid-tempo ballad about a girl named Daisy. He claims that she loves the hell out of him. You'll have to listen to the lyrics. It has a sad ending, but the song isn't a sad song. Hard to explain, unless you listen to it.
Amy Dalley - "Good Kind of Crazy"
I've always liked Amy Dalley's songs. She's had some hits, but never any really big ones where Curb would release her album, so she keeps on chugging away. This is a fun song where the girl talks about her boyfriend, and how he has all these big ideas, and says they should go to Mexico, and she says they can't afford to go, but he says they can't afford not to. My favorite line was where she says he stood in the rain for Toby Keith tickets so she and her friends can go to the show.
Bon Jovi - "(You Want To) Make a Memory"
Ok, Bon Jovi isn't someone you hear about a lot in country music, but they've decided to record a country album. I don't know. This doesn't sound country to me at all. It's a nice pop ballad, but I don't know how well it will do on country radio.
