Keith Urban - "Everybody"
Keith Urban has that special "something" about him that mesmerizes people when he sings. He has the uncanny ability to convey the most complex of messages, all with "everyday" language. There's just something about this single that makes me feel it will really strike a chord with people. Well done, Keith. Listen
Kenny Chesney - "Don't Blink"
Seems like only yesterday Kenny released "Never Wanted Nothing More" and now it's time for another. Guess that's par for the course when your single skyrockts up the charts to land at No. 1 for multiple weeks. This is a good song from Chesney and the only problem I have is that it sounds too much like most of his previously released singles. Listen
Little Big Town - "I'm With The Band"
If it wasn't for Little Big Town's song "Boondocks" I might not have become such a big fan of the group. This mid-tempo tune makes me anxious for what's to come on their future album. What I've loved about them is their ability to harmonize, and it is in fine form here. Listen
Van Zant - "Goes Down Easy"
What I didn't like about the last Van Zant single released, was that it didn't really "stand out." Let me tell you, I like this one a whole lot better. It's upbeat and fun! Two things that equal a good song from the duo.
Garth Brooks - "More Than A Memory"
This is the new song off Garth's upcoming Greatest Hits collection. Unfortunately, I've yet to hear it. I'm sure it's a good radio-friendly tune (we ARE talking about Garth here!), but for now I'll just have to say it's a very understated song. Almost reminds me of the sound of silence. *Wink*
The Eagles - "How Long"
I'm not extremely familiar with The Eagles' music other than a few of their songs like "Take It Easy" and "Desperado." From what I have heard this fits right in with the group's general sound, and even though I like it, I'm not sure what airplay will be like for them. That said, I wouldn't mind hearing it on my local station.
Brent Keith - "Looking For A Road (Theme from Dale)"
You might remember Brent Keith from Nashville Star. Well, now he's back with music of his own. His first song happens to be the theme to the upcoming CMT movie based on the life of Dale Earnhardt. His voice sounds better now than it did back on the show, so I hope he gets radio airplay. Listen
Bomshel - "Power Of One"
A good song with a powerful message. Good begins in the heart and can start with even one person, thus inspiring a chain reaction. Listen
Gene Watson - "I Buried Our Love"
This is a really great song and I can't say enough about it. Gene's voice makes each note seem effortless and is downright country sounding; a good thing considering what genre we're dealing with here.
