Country Music Single Releases - Week of January 28, 2008

What's new on country radio?

From Shelly Fabian, About.com Guide

Dierks Bentley - "Trying To Stop Your Leaving"
Dierks Bentley's songs always have just the right amount of emotion and "Trying To Stop Your Leaving" is no exception. However, there's something different about this song compared to past singles. Dierks is portraying many feelings this time, including sadness, wanting, needing, and urgency - all within every note he sings. Listen

Clay Walker - "She Likes It In The Morning"
It's always a pleasure being able to hear a new single from Clay Walker. He has a voice that's unmistakable and instantly recognizable. There's no one else like him and the single, "She Likes It In The Morning," is a beautiful composition. Listen

LeAnn Rimes - "Good Friend And A Glass Of Wine"
I think this is a great follow-up to the last single, "Nothin' Better To Do." It's a little bit soulful and is relatable by most women. Sometimes when you're stressed at the end of the work week, you need someone to talk to and who better than a close friend? Get together with a pal and things have a way of becoming brighter. Rissi Palmer - "Hold On To Me"
Rissi's last single was so infectious and now she's released a slower song so listeners can catch a glimpse of the other side of the coin. She sounds fantastic on this one and another thing impressive about the song is the fact she co-wrote it with Shaye Smith and Ed Hill. Listen

Keith Anderson - "I Still Miss You"
This is a very good song from Keith and has a lot of hit potential. His powerful vocals really pack a punch and go straight to the hearts of listeners. If this isn't a hit, then I don't know why not. Listen

Trent Willmon - "Broken In"
I don't understand why Trent Willmon hasn't been more of a regular fixture on the radio, because he should be. Maybe "Broken In" will be just the thing to get him back into the game with its upbeat tempo and cool lyrics. People tend to think others who are "rough around the edges" aren't worth a try. Give them that chance, though, and you might be surprised. Listen

Randy Owen - "Braid My Hair"
What a touching song right out of the gate. This is Randy Owen's first single as a solo artist and one hundred percent of the proceeds go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which is a place for which he has been a longtime spokesman. Certain songs just tug at your heartstrings, and this is one of them. Listen (Note: Listen link will take you to Randy's site, where the song will auto-load on the page.) Buy Direct
