Read Jenn's thoughts on the new singles that are released for the week of May 26, 2008.
Darius Rucker - "Don't Think I Don't Think About It"
When I saw that Darius Rucker was coming out with a Country Music single, I was mostly curious but also a little worried. When you're so familiar with an artist's previous work in a different genre (Darius was the lead singer of Hootie & The Blowfish), that's only natural. Let me say all that worrying was for nothing because this really is a fantastic single and much more country than some of the other songs making the rounds these days! There is so much potential and I look forward to hearing more from him. Listen

Steve Azar - "Soldier's Song"
Obviously the timing is right for this single, as it's being released around the Memorial Day holiday, but in no way is it what I would describe as a "novelty" song. Sometimes less really is more and that's true with Steve's latest single when it comes to the overall sound. With such important lyrics about a soldier who wants to go home to his wife and children, you want to focus on the story instead of any background music that might distract your attention. In a way, it's almost like you're listening to a soldier who is sitting alone in the barracks playing his song to pass away the time. Steve is right on with this tune and it's good to have him back.Randy Houser - "Anything Goes"
Here comes another Country Music singer with a lot of soul and a big voice. Though his voice might seem familiar to listeners at first, after a few seconds you will realize he's in a class of his own. I hope this quality song does well on radio, because it really should. ListenCowboy Crush - "Tougher Than A Man"
This is a weighty song dealing with only a few of the emotions one would experience as a single mom. Even if you never expected to be raising a child on your own, you'll find the courage and strength to do the best you can. It's a very powerful song and will undoubedtly grab listener's attention. Becky Schlegel - "Bound For Tennessee"
"Bound For Tennessee" has more of a softer sound as compared to the other singles being released this week. It's also more on the Americana / Bluegrass side of things. Becky has a beautiful voice which is also very pure and perfect for a genre with artists like Alison Krauss. Listen
