From Shelly Fabian, About.com Guide

John Michael Montgomery - "Forever"

John Michael Montgomery - "Forever"Stringtown
There's more of a "production" to this song than I usually associate with John Michael Montgomery's music. At least compared to some of his recent music. As time goes by I'm starting to notice similarities between John's voice and his brother Eddie's, which is fine. The song itself is one about not wanting to lose that special person in your life because you don't feel that you'd be able to make it without them. Listen

Julianne Hough - "My Hallelujah Song"

Julianne Hough - Julianne HoughMercury Nashville
Julianne Hough has a way of brightening up the television and there's no doubt she can do that with her music. "My Hallelujah Song" sounds much more like her than did previous single "That Song In My Head." Hopefully that will transfer into a major hit. Listen

Mark Wills - "The Things We Forget"

Here's another upbeat single for the week. When life gets to rolling by at a fast pace, it's so easy to forget to remember the simple things. Lighten up and learn to laugh, don't take things so seriously all the time and you're bound to have a balanced life. Get back to your roots when you can. Mark is still sounding great and I'd love to catch this on the radio. Listen

Eli Young Band - "Always The Love Songs"

Eli Young Band - Jet Black and JealousUniversal South
This song is so true and once you listen you'll feel the same way. Many of life's events can be centered around music in one way or another. You might remember singing certain songs along with friends, but the really special memories are centered around love songs. Good to hear new material from the Eli Young Band. It's been too long! Aaron Tippin - "Drill Here, Drill Now"

Leave it to Aaron Tippin to stand up for the people and put his thoughts into a great sounding song! He's fed up with the effects of higher gasoline prices just like a majority of Americans are, so he's wanting politicians on Capitol Hill to pass a law for us to drill for oil on our own soil. The song is closely aligned with Newt Gingrich's "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" petition.

Joey + Rory

Joey + Rory - "Cheater Cheater"Sugarhill/Vanguard
Wow. This is a fantastic song! Somehow I missed the buzz about the CMT "Can You Duet" show, so I'm just now hearing the duo for the first time and "impressed" would be an understatement. They will definitely find a devoted following as more people listen to their songs. Listen

Becky Schlegel - "Jenny"

Becky Schlegel - For All the World to SeeLilly Ray/IGO Records
Earlier in the year I reviewed a great single from Becky ("Bound for Tennessee") and I love the newest one even better. "Jenny" is beautiful not only because of the lyrics but largely thanks to Becky's voice. She sings just like songbird. Listen
