Brooks & Dunn - "Cowgirls Don't Cry"
"Cowgirls Don't Cry" has a very classic Brooks & Dunn sound to it with the easy melody and a great storytelling quality to the lyrics. The little girl grew up learning that cowgirls don't cry when they fall off a horse and she kept that with her during hard times with her husband. Finally, when she found out her father was dying she cried and the last words he said were easing HER fears and telling her it will be okay. How sad and inspirational all at the same time. Listen

Doug Stone - "Don't Tell Mama"
I was familiar with this song because Gary Allan recorded it for his Smoke Rings In The Dark album. If you compare the two, Doug's definitely has more of a traditional country sound. It's a great song and I'm glad it's being released as a single from Doug Stone.
