Trace Adkins
Trace Adkins was next to perform in the day's main stage line up. He opened with "Songs About Me," "(This Ain't) No Thinking Thing" and "I'm Tryin'." Trace said something like "Tonight is a first for me. In ten years in the business, I've never have done a show with Reba McEntire. I just want to finish my set, kick back and dig on a legend." The audience cheered and screamed to his comment.
When Adkins started singing "Swing" everyone was on their feet dancing. Trace swayed and rocked his hips back in forth sending his female fans into screams. As he started down the stage stairs, the fans rushed to the sides of the catwalk filling the walk ways at least two and three people deep to get closer to Trace. Then, Trace performed "Every Light In The House," "I Left Something Turned On At Home" and "I Want To Feel Something," the #1 video on GAC for the week.
Next, Trace received a standing ovation from the audience for his performance of "Arlington." He sang "Fightin' Words" from his Dangerous Man album, stating something like the album allows him to express himself. Adkins introduced the next song "There Ain't No Woman Like You," honoring Ronnie Milsap. He continued to tell the audience that Ronnie Milsap won a Grammy for the song back when winning a Grammy really meant something.
Trace sang "There's a Stranger In My House" sharing with the crowd something along the line that he likes to sing whatever he wants, like Blues, Country or R & B. But his label said he can't do that. But, that's what Ronnie did, so if you don't like it write to Ronnie Milsap about it, and then cracked up laughing. The audience burst into laughter and started applauding and cheering.
Then, Trace sang an old Blackfoot song "Train" before singing "Ride," from his Dangerous Man album. He announced the next song is his theme song, and launched into "Rough and Ready" followed by "Ladies Love Country Boys." He said the next song is for his mama, chuckling, as he started singing "Hot Mama."
Introducing his next song, Trace teased Kellie Pickler, by quoting her saying "this is usually the place in our show where I sing "Fancy" but since Reba is here I'm going to leave that to her, but I really did wanted to sing it," using what had to be the highest pitch and feminine voice he could muster, he started singing "Here's your once chance Fancy, don't let me down," much to the delight and laughter of the crowd.
Then came "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk," and Trace saying something like "After this song was released my mom said she'd have to switch to a new church." As the music started, the festival dancers entered the stage heading to the catwalk to dance along with Trace's singing. The audience clapped, swayed and danced.
Trace left the stage and the audience started screaming and beating on the catwalk until he returned to sing "Chrome" after which he waved and thanked everyone and then quickly exited the stage for Reba's crew to start preparing for her performance.
