Bottom Line:

When Michelle Branch and Jessica Harp met, they probably never dreamed of the success that fate had laid out before them. With close two-part harmony, this young team became fast professionals in the country music world. Both are crafted musicians as well as entertainers. From the minute these two young ladies joined forces, they have gained fans from all walks of life.

The Wreckers' first album broke down a ton of walls, while also helping pave the way for their new career in country music. Once fans heard "Leave The Pieces," they were hooked. It had catchy lyrics as well as back up music, but their looks didn't hurt anything either.

Although Jessica and Michelle are a newer duo, they aren't new to music. Michelle Branch was an established, Grammy winning pop star, while Jessica was an established songwriter in Nashville. Their experience has helped them out when it came to the music scene. Their talent, however, is the only thing that helped them get a record deal.

From the minute they stepped into the country music spotlight it has been constant touring and public appearances. They knew how to get in the public eye and then stay there. Even before their first album Stand Still, Look Pretty was released, they were appearing on award shows and television.

When "My, Oh My" was released it truly caught fans attention. The video would catch your eyes from a mile away. They used the old "wild west" background, dressed up and became two outlaws. Everything they do helps their fans see the big picture.

Their latest project is The Wreckers - Way Back Home: Live From New York City, and it is a great look into their world. It contains a full live CD of a concert in New York City, as well as a live DVD with bonus interviews.

This album is actually a huge risk for anyone to take, especially a newer group, with only one album under their belt. Most artist have multiple albums out before they ever attempt to record a live one, but these girls looked it square in the eye and embraced it. Jessica and Michelle did not want to record this album in a normal venue. They wanted it to be in a special, elegant place with great acoustics, so they booked The Bowery Ballroom, in New York City.

Anytime you go to a live concert, the introduction is actually one of the most exciting things. Everyone has spent so much time getting ready, standing in line, and fighting through crowds. So, as soon as The Wreckers were announced, they hit the stage with "The Good Kind," and the crowd went wild. This is song that will lead you in one direction and then jerk you in another. At first you think it is this cute little love song, but by the end you realize she is leaving him and not loving him.

There are numerous songs on this set that were originally recorded on their first album. "Cigarettes," "My, Oh My," "Tennessee," "Leave The Pieces," and "Stand Still, Look Pretty" are all on their debut record.

It is nice when there is a DVD included in a set like this. It shows the chemistry they share together. Their friendship is as solid as their music. You are able to hear it in the car, or sit in the front row and enjoy it just like if you were there in person. Now, you never have to leave your home to see a great show.

The Wreckers may have taken a risk, but after you get this set, you will see it paid off.
