Christmas On the Pecos Bottom Line:

One of country music's most beloved entertainers has released a DVD full of Christmas classics. This disc includes some of the most famous holiday hits as well as a couple new ones for fans to enjoy for the first time. Every word that Randy sings gives off a special energy that only he can deliver. You can see him perform thirteen songs, along with some of the best "behind the scenes" footage ever.

About Randy Travis

Randy Travis has been one of the most influential country music artists of all time. Whether he is singing something from early in his career or something off of his latest album, it will be great. He has always remained true to his roots and recorded the music that he felt would speak to the world.

When he hit the charts in the 1980s, no one had a clue that his career would grow like it has. With hits under his belt such as "I Told You So," Diggin' Up Bones," "Forever And Ever, Amen," "Look Heart, No Hands," and countless others, Randy's longevity has catapulted him into the twenty first century with more integrity and respect than ever before.

After becoming one of the most successful country music entertainers, Randy decided to try his hand in acting. After taking on a role for the television show "Matlock," Randy went on to appear on the silver screen. He landed a part in the hit movie "Black Dog," which starred Patrick Swayze and Meatloaf. Working beside Rob Lowe and Bill Paxton, Randy appeared in the hit western "Frank And Jesse." He played the part of Frank and Jesse James' cousin, Cole Younger. After some amazing reviews, this movie proved to be one of Randy's most popular roles.

After grabbing Hollywood by the horns, he decided it was time to take on a project that he had been hoping to do for years and that was a gospel album. Now, for the first time ever, Randy Travis has released a Christmas DVD just in time for the holiday season

Christmas On the Pecos Review

This video was recorded in New Mexico at the beautiful Carlsbad Caverns. The scenery is gorgeous and Randy Travis' voice sounds better than ever.

The first tune on this DVD is a song that children look forward to singing every year called "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town." Although it is something that appeals to the younger crowd, just about everyone ends up singing along with it by the end.

"God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" is a classic song that has been recorded by countless artists from across the board. It is a perfect tune that helps everyone get into the Christmas mood.

Randy performs the song "Rock Of Ages," but really shines bright with an awesome song called "How Do I Wrap My Heart For Christmas?" During this time of year, people spend countless hours and tons of money trying to find their better half the perfect gift. Well, once you have heard this track, it becomes clear that the perfect gift is free, it just takes pure love to make it special.

"Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire" is a tune that people still enjoy hearing each and every year. It has a warm feeling to it, and paints the picture of someone sitting around the fire staying warm with that special someone.

Bringing this DVD to an end is "Christmastime's A Comin'." After hearing this, it is impossible to not look forward to this festive time of year.

In the special features, fans can enjoy seeing some special "behind the scenes" footage, as well as a live version of Randy's smash hit "Three Wooden Crosses." This is one of the best Christmas videos ever and is something that the whole family can enjoy.
