Guide Review - Wynonna - Her Story: Scenes From a Lifetime DVD
In this live concert Wynonna weaves the story of her life using her music. This is told in two sets. The first is called "Harmony and History." Starting in 1985, Wynonna tells about just winning the Grammy with her mom, and living the "Girls Night Out" every night. Her mom and step-dad are in the audience, and they are shown every once in a while. I also saw Faith Hill & Tim McGraw sitting next to her mom and step-dad. What a pleasure to hear all those Judd songs again. Wy says that these are some of her favorite Judd songs, and she plays "Love Is Alive," "Maybe Your Baby's Got The Blues," "Young Love," "Let Me Tell You About Love," and "Love Can Build a Bridge."She moves on to her solo career, with her first solo hit, "She Was His Only Need." "Tell Me Why," and "No One Else On Earth" are among some of the other solo hits she sings.
Set two is called "Motherhood & Music" and includes a mixture of her own songs and covers of songs such as "Shining Star," "Burnin' Love," "The Best," and "I Can Only Imagine." She talks about riding on the bus now with her two young kids, "doing diapers by day and making a snack in her stage clothes." The cover songs are from artists that have influenced her music and her life.
In the bonus interview, Wy talks about where the idea for this album came from, and where she found the songs that she decided to include in the project. Any fan of Wynonna will love this, but even if you're a casual fan, you'll enjoy this great concert.
