The Andy Griggs Archery Tournament was held on Thursday, June 9 at 4:00 PM at the Sports Zone in the parking lot of the Adelphia, and the attendance was huge.
The day was hot and humid and the crowd was treated to some great competition and a lot of fun. The targets were representative of various animals one would hunt with a bow and arrow and the shots were scored by judges with 12 being a perfect hit. The participants alternated targets, with everyone having a turn at each target and the scores were very impressive.
The tournament ended with a "shoot off" for first place between Andy Griggs and Neil Thrasher and the end result was Andy winning by 2 points.
The event was filmed by The Outdoor Channel to be shown later in the year. Some of the artists taking part in the tournament, Andy Griggs, Lee Ann Womack, Linda Davis, Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts, Neil Thrasher, Craig Morgan, Troy Gentry of Montgomery Gentry, Tracy Byrd, Daryle Singletary, Aaron Tippin and Daniel Lee Martin.
