On Wednesday night, June 9, the Wildhorse Saloon in downtown Nashville was packed to the rafters for the Andy Griggs/Tracy Byrd Fan Club Party.
This was the second year these two artists combined their parties and after such a successful party last year, expectations were high for a night of good music, good friends, lots of laughter and a charity auction that was the highlight of the night. Things got underway with fans mingling, old friends finding each other and meeting new friends.
Andy and Tracy Provide the Music
After a really great meal, things got underway with an acoustic set by Andy, Tracy and their guests. During the night, the artists took a break from singing and entertained the huge crowd in another way. They held a charity auction, and each auctioned items the other had brought. Needless to say, they were hilariously entertaining while raising a lot of money for charity.Andy and Tracy sang the songs for which we know them and a few new ones. Tracy sang his new single, "Cheapest Motel," and that one sounds like a hit for sure.
Andy did a cover, a song called "Cutthroat Montana," which left many in the audience asking if he planned to record it. Guests during the evening were Zona Jones who did his smash hit "Two Hearts," Rhett Akins who had everyone singing along on "That Ain't My Truck," and "Kiss My Country Ass," and Marty Brown who really impressed the crowd with a song called "God Don't Make Mistakes." A fun packed night from start to finish, this event is sure to become an annual event eagerly anticipated by all country music fans.
