The 6th Annual Late Night Jam held for MusiCares was held at the Ryman Auditorium on June 7 at 11:00 pm. Marty and the Fabulous Superlatives took the stage performing songs "Homesick," 'Now That's Country," "Buckaroo," and "Country Boy Rock and Roll."

He then introduced Ruby Jane. She is 11 and plays the fiddle and dances. Ruby Jane did two fiddle tunes with Marty accompanying her on guitar.

After Ruby Jane was done, Marty told the story about how when he was a boy he went to go see Connie Smith and on the ride home he told his mother that he was going to marry her one day. He then introduced Connie and she came out with her band and did a few songs. Her last song was a duet with Marty doing a song called "Hearts Like Ours". Marty then informed us that John Stone from Tootsies was scheduled to appear but had to cancel due to his Grandmother passing away. In his place he called out the "Governor" (manger of Nashville Palace) who came out and presented Marty with a check from Tootsie's and Nashville Palace.

The next act to follow was the Shack Shakers. They were a lively group, just not my kind of music.

Marty and his band took the stage again and did two more songs and then he introduced Travis Tritt. You can tell that those two enjoy performing together. They were the best part of the show in my opinion. They did "This One's Gonna Hurt You (for a Long Long Time" and "The Whiskey Ain't Workin' Anymore." Then Travis sang "I Walk The Line" and "Anymore." Marty joined Travis on "Let It Roll" and "Here's A Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)."

Marty then took time to thank us all for coming and to explain about MusiCares. Marty explained who benefits from the proceeds of the Late Night Jam and told us that MusiCares helps musicians in need of financial assistance.

Don Chamber and GOAT next took the stage. Again they were good but just not my kind of music. Marty also joined them for a song.

Kathy Mattea took the stage next. She was great! After Kathy's set Marty and the Seattle Connection joined her on stage to do a gospel song.

Marty and the band then took the stage again to close out the show with the Unseen Hand.

If I go back to Fan Fair next year I would love to do Marty's Late Nite Jam again. The Late Nite Jam had something for everyone.
