We got to Riverfront for the Greased Lightning Shows on Sunday, June 11, 2006, at 1:45 in time to hear Buddy Jewell start his show. He started out with "Country Enough" and then went into his first single, "Pour Out The Rain (Lacey's Song)." "If She Were Any Other Woman" came next.
Buddy talked about what is happening in our country and told how when seeing people burning our flag, he wrote "What This Country's Comin' To." He said that if people can burn our flag, he could say what he felt in his music. Buddy thanked all the soldiers for what they do for us and our country.
Buddy finished up his set with "Sweet Southern Comfort."
Next to appear was Hot Apple Pie. They started up with "Makin' Up." Then came "Redneck Revolution," "Country Boy Can Survive," and their current single, "Easy Does It." They finished up with "You Don't Know The Shape I'm In" and a rousing version of "Hillbillies" that included audience participation.
Jack Ingram was the next performer. This Texas guy opened up with "Never Knocked Me Down." "One Thing," "Keep On Keepin' On," "Love You," and his first No. 1 song, "Wherever You Are" were the choices for his show. Jack talked about his trying to get a song on the ACC Top 40 list and getting people in Nashville to know who he is. This hard working talent is someone to keep your eye on.
