The Stadium Club at Vanderbilt University in Nashville was the site for the Wednesday, June 8, 2005 Ty Herndon Fan Club Party. It was a beautiful venue and a rather small, intimate gathering of about 125 fans. The day's activities began at 10 AM with a buffet breakfast which included scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, bagels & rolls, cereals and fruit, along with coffee and juice. It was all delicious!

There were several new beautifully framed photos of Ty to bid on in a silent auction. They were from a recent photo shoot for an upcoming , much anticipated, album, due to come out later this year. Each round table was decorated much like a wedding reception, with a vase of 2 roses at each place, which were given to us as a gift from Ty. We also had place cards with our names printed on them with a magnet inside with a photo of Ty. It's a very special keepsake.

Ty arrived at approximately 11:15 AM and did a short acoustic set with his band members. We were all excited to hear several new songs that he is working on, along with 2 of his most popular hits. The set list included: "Living In A Moment," "Love Looks Good On You", "Keepin' Up With The Joneses," (actually written by one of Ty's guitar players, Darrion Keith, so at the party, Darrion sang it...however, Ty said he is going to record it for the album), "Right About Now", "Say Something," and "What Mattered Most." The new songs are just fabulous and in all the years I have followed Ty, I have never heard his voice so strong and with such a range. Just incredible! Ty took some time during his set to honor his 88 year old Grandma Myrtle (Todd), who was there to show her support to him. He had made her a special plaque of how his music was influenced and intertwined with hers. He presented it to her with a big bouquet of yellow roses. It was a very touching moment and I would be safe in saying there were more than a few teary eyes in the place!

After Ty finished his set, he took a few moments to grab a bite to eat, then was right back out to meet with each of his fans personally. He spent over 2 hours just visiting and signing autographs and taking pictures. No one was rushed and he seemed very happy to have the opportunity to thank everyone for supporting him and his career. It was about 2 PM when the last person finally got to talk to Ty and the party was officially over. It was a wonderful party and over too soon for this Ty Herndon fan!
