The artists that are referred to as New Traditionalists are those that took their inspiration from the legendary country artists. Ricky Skaggs was inspired by Bill Monroe and Ralph Stanley. Other artists came along with a traditional sound; George Strait, Randy Travis, The Judds, Ricky Van Shelton, and Alan Jackson.
