Josh Gracin was first introduced to most of us on the American Idol show in 2003 where he came in fourth place. He was signed by Lyric Street Records, home of one of his own favorite country artists, Rascal Flatts, and recently released his self-titled debut, and on what little time off he has from the Marine Corps, he gladly fielded some questions from your AboutCountry staff.
AboutCountry Staff: What went through your head when you were picked for American Idol?
Josh Gracin: Couldn't believe that out of 70K people, I was chosen...
AboutCountry Staff: What kind of a tour schedule do you have planned to support your new album?
Josh Gracin: I'm in discussions with Brad Paisley to open some shows for him...
AboutCountry Staff: If you had the chance to sing a duet with any country music star, dead or alive, who would it be? Why?
Josh Gracin: Garth Brooks because he's the reason I wanted to do this to begin with
AboutCountry Staff: What has been the best piece of advice ever given to you regarding your career?
Josh Gracin: Be Yourself and Have Fun!
AboutCountry Staff: Since you're still in the active military, when did you have time to record your album?
Josh Gracin: On weekends and leave days.
AboutCountry Staff: Other than the saxophone, do you play any other instruments?
Josh Gracin: Guitar and Piano.
AboutCountry Staff: What is your favorite song from the album?
Josh Gracin: "Nothin' to Lose," and "Brass Bed."

Josh Gracin: Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Martina McBride and of course, Rascal Flatts
AboutCountry Staff: Have you performed for the military since the show?
Josh Gracin: Yes, the National Anthem many times

Josh Gracin: Certainly!
